Care that connects the dots in hypermobility and hEDS/HSD

For hypermobile individuals whose symptoms feel connected, but are often treated separately.

You may be in the right place if…

  • You are hypermobile, bendy, or have been diagnosed with hEDS/HSD.

  • You experience a mix of symptoms such as pain, fatigue, dizziness, digestive issues, food reactions, allergic-like symptoms, hormonal changes, or frequent injuries.

  • You have been told your labs are “normal,” but you still do not feel well.

  • You feel like your symptoms are connected, but they keep being treated separately.

A hypermobility-informed approach

Hypermobility can affect more than joints. Many patients also experience symptoms involving digestion, energy, pain, the nervous system, skin, hormones, and immune/histamine reactivity.

Dr. Jenny Zhao, ND has a focused clinical interest in supporting patients with diagnosed or suspected hEDS/HSD using a whole-person naturopathic approach. Care may include symptom mapping, nutrition, lab testing where appropriate, lifestyle support, acupuncture, supplementation, prescriptions when indicated, and collaboration with your broader healthcare team.

How Care Works

Initial visit: understanding the full picture

1

Your first visit is a comprehensive review of your main concerns, health history, medications/supplements, lifestyle, diet, sleep, stress, digestion, hormones, pain patterns, and previous testing.

Together, we begin connecting the dots between your symptoms and discuss whether any updated or additional testing may be helpful.

Follow-up visit: assessment and treatment planning

2

At your follow-up, we may review blood work or other test results, complete relevant physical exams, and begin building a realistic treatment plan based on your priorities and clinical picture.

Your plan may include nutrition, lifestyle strategies, supplements, acupuncture, prescriptions when appropriate, and/or collaboration with other healthcare providers.

Ongoing care: adjusting as your needs change

3

Follow-up visits are scheduled based on your symptoms, goals, and treatment plan. Care is adjusted over time to support better function, fewer flares, and more confidence understanding managing your body.
